Columbia Elementary Parents, staff, students, and community The Title I Stakeholder Input meetings are one of the most important meetings of the year!  Please join us to help plan for the 2024-2025 school year. The focus of all Title I programs is to help eligible students meet the same high academic achievement standards expected of all children. We will be discussing our goals, planning the budget, discussing the needs of parents, and providing ideas for teacher training for next year. Our next meeting will take place on May 25th at 12:00 pm. The 2023-2024 school compact and DCSD policy are available for your review.  We look forward to collaborating with YOU!

Below is the schedule for the administration of the EOG in the DeKalb County School District.  It is imperative that students attend school each day and arrive on time so they will not miss any sections of this important assessment.
[EOG TESTING will begin at 8:00 a.m. each assessment day]
Testing Schedule:
Monday, April 29, 2024 - Final Day Make-Up Testing / Collection Day
Parents/Guardians, you can help by taking the following steps:

  1. Limit evening activities prior to testing so that adequate time is provided for rest.
  2. Discuss the importance of testing with your son/daughter.
  3. Provide two #2 pencils daily.
  4. Provide a nutritious breakfast. (Breakfast is provided at school from 7:00 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. daily)
  5. Ensure your child is present and on time each morning.  If possible, please avoid scheduling doctor/dentist appointments during the testing period.
  6. If an issue arises that may impact your child's performance, please contact an administrator.
Great American Eclipse
To provide a safe viewing of the Great American Eclipse on Monday, April 8th, the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) has decided to make that day an independent learning day for students and school-based employees. (Students and staff do not report) The safety and well-being of our students remain a top priority for DCSD, and while experiencing a solar eclipse is exciting and educational, looking directly at an eclipse can damage a student’s eyes. The independent learning day would also ensure students and staff are not on the roads and highways during the time of the eclipse, which is expected to begin at 1:45 p.m. and end at 4:21 p.m., during dismissal time for DCSD schools. We encourage families who plan to experience the eclipse to be safe and protect their eyes by wearing eclipse-viewing glasses. Families can visit DCSD’s website for more safety tips.
