Our school hours are 7:45 am - 2:15 pm.

Parents, please note that our school hours are from 7:45 am - 2:15 pm. Core Instruction begins at 7:45 am. Our Intervention Block is from 8:30 - 9:00. Please ensure that your child arrives to school on time.  

Breakfast/Lunch – Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 am - 7:40 am. Students have the option to bring lunch from home or eat the school lunch. Breakfast and lunch are free for all students, and outside lunch, such as fast food is not permitted.


Carpool – Students may enter the building starting at 7:00 am.


Tardies – Please ensure students arrive by 7:45 a.m. daily.  Students are able to enter the building at 7:00 a.m. Please be mindful of this expectation, and as a reminder, tardies begin at 7:45a.m.

 

Morning Drop OffThe building will open at 7:00 am and students are marked tardy at 7:45 am. Parents are welcome to walk their children to their classroom, however, parents will not be allowed down the instructional hallway after 7:45am. Please remember to park in the main parking lot and not the bus lane. 

 
Back to School Rally
DCSD is excited to invite you to the 2024 Back-to-School Rally! This event is a fantastic opportunity for families to kick off the new school year with enthusiasm and support.

The 24-25 Back to School Rally on Saturday, July 27th location has changed to the parking lot of the AIC (Administrative and Instructional Complex) at 1701 Mountain Industrial Boulevard, Stone Mountain, GA 30083. On behalf of the Columbia Elementary Staff, I would like to say Welcome Back to the 2024-2025 School Year!  We are looking forward to an exciting school year of collaboration and engagement.

Open House: Join us for Open House on Thursday, August 1, 2024 9:30 am -11:00 am OR 12:00 pm - 1:30pm.  Once you have completed registration or annual verification, you will be able to visit the classrooms and meet the teacher(s) for the upcoming school year.
1st Day of School: Students return to school on Monday, August 5, 2024.  School hours are 7:00 am -2:15 pm.  Please ensure that students have been registered prior to the first day of school.  See information above.
 
Columbia Elementary Stakeholder Title I I...
 
Columbia Elementary parents, staff, students, and community the Title I Stakeholder Input meetings are one of the most important meetings of the year!  Please join us to help plan for the 2024-2025 school year. The focus of all Title I programs is to help eligible students meet the same high academic achievement standards expected of all children. We will be discussing our goals, planning the budget, discussing the needs of parents, and providing ideas for teacher training for next year. Our first meeting will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 5:00 pmThe 2023-2024 school compact and DCSD policy are available for your review.  We look forward to collaborating with YOU!

The candidate declaration window for 2024-2025 Principal Advisory Council elections will be open through Friday, September 6, 2024.

  • Principal Advisory Councils bring parents, school employees, students and community members together to create a better understanding of and mutual respect for each other’s perspectives and share ideas for increasing student achievement and performance.  Click here to run for a position on our school's PAC.

DCSD Community and Corporate Mentoring Program:  The Community and Corporate Mentoring Program in DeKalb County School District provides a wonderful opportunity for students to achieve their dreams and goals.  Parents, scan the QR code on the attachment to sign your students up for the Community and Corporate Mentoring Program.

How to Sign in to Clever
With Clever, everyone has a personalized portal with a single login for all of their online programs and resources. This portal provides access to all the apps available in the District. Students also have access to their Teacher's Page located in Clever.

At the local level, on-going training sessions are offered to all principals in order to support the work of aligning, refining, monitoring, and evaluating the continuous improvement efforts of each individual school.
