School Times Information
 School Hours
 
Our school hours are 7:45 am - 2:15 pm.

Parents, please note that our school hours are from 7:45 am - 2:15 pm. Core Instruction begins at 7:45 am. Our Intervention Block is from 8:30 - 9:00. Please ensure that your child arrives to school on time.  

Breakfast/Lunch – Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 am - 7:40 am. Students have the option to bring lunch from home or eat the school lunch. Breakfast and lunch are free for all students, and outside lunch, such as fast food is not permitted.


Carpool – Students may enter the building starting at 7:00 am.


Tardies – Please ensure students arrive by 7:45 a.m. daily.  Students are able to enter the building at 7:00 a.m. Please be mindful of this expectation, and as a reminder, tardies begin at 7:45a.m.

 

Morning Drop OffThe building will open at 7:00 am and students are marked tardy at 7:45 am. Parents are welcome to walk their children to their classroom, however, parents will not be allowed down the instructional hallway after 7:45am. Please remember to park in the main parking lot and not the bus lane. 

 
Infinite Campus Parent Portal (Grades)
Parents stay informed and connected with Infinite Campus. This portal allows you to access your child's grades (progress reports & report cards), assignments, attendance, schedule and more. Create an Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Have an account already? Follow these steps to sign into Infinite Campus

Progress Reports - progress reports will be issued on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.  This progress report will reflect the graded assignments for the first 4.5 weeks of the 2nd semester.  Progress reports can be found inside your "Parent Portal" account.  A hard copy can be sent home upon parent request. 
 
Black History Month Spirit Week
Columbia Elementary invites all students and staff to participate in our Black History Spirit Week, during the week of February 26th - March 1st.  
 
Monday 26th - Wear red, black or green. 
Tuesday 27th - Wear attire from the 50s - 90s era. 
Wednesday 28th - Dress up as your favorite African American Hero.
Thursday 29th - Wear ALL black.
Friday 1st - Wear HBCU attire.

Reminder our Black History Program will take place on Thursday, February 26th at 5:30 pm.

You are cordially invited and encouraged to attend Black History Program, which will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024 @ 5:30 p.m.  All black history program participants need to report back to the school no later than 5:00 pm.

GA. Milestone (EOG) Assessment Parent Mee...
GA. Milestone (EOG) Assessment parent meeting - this meeting is only for parents of our 3rd, 4th & 5th grade scholars.  This meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 4:00 pm. During this meeting parents will receive information about this state mandated test that all 3rd-5th graders will participant in.   
 
GA Pre K Lottery
Applications for this year's Pre-K/Pre-K3 online process will open from 8:00 am February 27, 2024 - 11:59 pm March 21, 2024.

Georgia Parent Survey

Survey Information:  The 2023-2024 Georgia Student Health Survey, Georgia Parent Survey, and the Georgia School Personnel Survey window is now open and will remain open through Friday, March 1, 2024, and will contribute to the 2024-2025 School Climate Score.  The Georgia Parent Survey link has been provided below.  All parents & guardians please click on the link below and complete this important survey.  Your input is valuable and greatly appreciated.

Basketball Clinic for 4th & 5th Graders
DCSD Athletics Dept. will sponsor the first elementary basketball camp. This camp is scheduled for March 16th and 23rd. Kindly arrive 15 minutes early before your designated time.

Career Day
